Dr. Jimmy L. Searcy was born on December 27, 1962, the sixth of eight children to Mr. Otha and Mrs. Louise Searcy. He was born in Thomaston, Georgia and he currently resides in Hampton, Virginia. He has been married to Mrs. Brenda J. Searcy for 30 years. To their union, were born two children, Krystal and Kimberly Searcy. They have one grandson, Christian Ricks.
Dr. Searcy is a graduate of Norfolk Theological Seminary. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology, a Masters in Divinity, and a Doctorate in Ministry with a Focus on Organizational Leadership. His proven dissertation is Unifying the body of Christ.
Other education includes training in the areas of marketing, finance, corporate law and criminal law as well as taking part in various leadership programs.
He was a member of St John’s, Church of God in Christ for 34 years under the late Bishop Samuel L Green, Jr Pastor, Emeritus, where he also served on the Executive Board and the Trustee Board. He was ordained as an Elder in the 2nd Jurisdiction, State of Va. August 6th 2012, under the leadership of the late Bishop Samuel L. Green, Jr. Emeritus. He currently serves as a member of the Virginia finance team.
Dr. Searcy is an entrepreneur and has been in business for over 25 years. Presently, he is the owner of Jim Searcy Bail Bond Corporation. His passion has driven him to become a directional counselor for young men.
In June of 2015, he founded Grace Temple Worship Center in Newport News, Virginia. In building the kingdom, Dr. Searcy regards, “When the body of Christ is unified, we are stronger”. His ministry is based on the scripture: “God has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus” (2Tim 1:9).
Past Achievements
Dr. Searcy has previously served as the former Marketing Director/Owner for Stadac Enterprises in which he oversaw operation for several convenience stores, a laundry mat, and gas islands.
He has also served as a former marketing director/owner Sub Ventures, INC Subway as well President of Hampton Roads Investment Corp.
